I have posted previously a little about my doubts on my subwoofer setup. I think that one 12" 300W RMS sub probably just isn't cutting it for me. Granted, the box I'm using is a prefab and might be some of the problem (the previous owner thought that by putting two holes about 1.5" in diameter in a sealed box would help the bass sound better), but I feel that the volume isn't where I want it to be. I was just going to build a better sealed box, but I want a mixture of sound quality and volume. So my question is, how would I achieve good SQL? Should I build a properly sealed box that is maybe a little bigger, or try building a ported one that is tuned somewhere around 30hz? I want a pretty flat frequency response, but I need it to be a bit louder as well. Thanks for any input.
