Best TV Antenna for car??

The best antenna is not something you're probably willing to do //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

But you can achieve a good compromise...get the dipole "legs" stretched out as far as possible...maybe one leg up, one leg down in the shape of an "L" to capture the most signal from horizontal/vertical polarization.

LOL Thanks Jack but I've heard a few people telling me how they have a different Clarion antenna from me that goes in the front windsheild and is shaped differently. Problem is, I can't see a place anywhere that sells Clarion antennas

In-windshield antennas?

Sounds sketchy.

You can't cheat physics here...at some level, you need to have enough capture area to get a good signal.

*edit - What about a glass-mount antenna? Relatively unobtrusive, and @ VHF they work reasonably well.

^^ My stock AM/FM radio antenna is in the rear window and it works fine

I don't think you will ever get a 'good' TV signal in your car, when you are trying to use an antenna, the results are almost never what I would call satisfactory using antennas to pick up video, let alone while you are moving. I had a TV tuner in my car and eventually stopped using it, the reception always sucked, picked up very few channels, never anything worth watching and just wasn't worth my time to keep in my car.

my kenwood xxv-05v has a built in tv tuner with two powered antennas and they actually work pretty **** good. I get the basic vhf channels in good to excellent quality, and i get the main uhf channels (fox, tbs, etc...) in **** near cable quality most of the time. one of my antennas is on my rear window of my truck and the other is on the top of the windshield. I'm extremely happy with the quality of my reception. I've even had a few people ask how the hell I have cable in my truck because of how fox comes in so perfect. If you really need the best reception, tweeter just started carrying a dish for direct tv that is made for mobile entertainment, however i believe its expensive as hell. just my $.02

Too bad they didn't make antennas the size of satellite radio antennas that could pick up satellite tv //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif, it would be revolutionary
