home sub

I know this is a "car audio forum" but I was wonderin if you guys had any suggestions on home subs. I have a power converter so that not a prob and its gonna from a pc and I already have a mini ht setup with 5 lil speakers. I was thinkin around 500 watts Maybe a 15" Comp vr??????????lol I wanna try the type r but I would need at least a 1000 for any size. any suggestions?

are the power requirements the same if you take a car sub and put it in your house. I always heard AC was a lil stronger

I meant that you don't need a kilowatt for a Type R. That's simply wrong to say you need that much power...

Room gain is less than the gain you get in a car, so you might need more power/subs to get the same kind of output levels you're used to in a vehicle.

But then again, dynamic range is a whole lot more - you don't have to overcome road/wind noise. So you might be able to get away with less power than you're used to.
