Anyone have any custom tools they use for instalations? (car audio, computers, making boxes, fiberglassing, customing anything)

The only two things that i really use that most people prolly dont:

1) magnetized (iron core unico) screw driver.. (most useful thing ever, trust me magnetize yours )

2) small stainless steal tweezers, used with shaping glass, great for bending proccesor pins.

Add anything you use that you consider really useful !

Hemostats, longer than tweezers and can lock on to something.

Also when you need to reset the bios and the MOBO doesn't have pins just the points you can touch the tips of the hemos to the two point to make the connection to clear out the CMOS. Man my 486s was a pain in the butt!

I find them great to reach down and grab something behind a radio, makes it easy for a friend to hold something and his hands not be in the way, etc. Think of precision needle nose pliers. As with any tool be very careful //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

very cool! i'll have to look into getting myself a pair of gold plated ones //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/inlove.gif.6846f78f06b405429ef3a00129788a2a.gif

the tweezers i use are about 5 inches long, and bend at a perf 90 degree angle at the end, its ideal for aligning rows of procesors pins

Skew Driver, Makita Right angle drill, Klein Strippers and Crimpers, Snap-On DMM, etc, etc....

Something else that works awesome for running wires into doors through boots is a 3 ft (yes 3 ft) Zip tie. Drill three holes in one end of it about 1/2" apart. You can thread the wires in the holes, and it works excellent. I have a lot of little tricks like that I use daily.

best tool: the human hand, its free!
well sometimes the hand attachment is pretty useless, you have no torque control or stability and it will just jitter all over the place, thats without without the 0.1V upgrade "brain pack". good thing theyre both free.......

skewdriver set, an old car antenna to pull wires through carpet and whatnot, channel lock crimpers and a portable soldering iron, id be lost without these things, plus it helps to be really skinny, so then I can stick my arms in places that most people cant
