Best Subwoofer Under $200

I've been looking around and I've found two different sealed sub boxes (one 8" and one 10") that I can fit in my truck and I have up to a $200 budget to put something in there.

I'm looking for a subwoofer that's geared more for a kick drum thump instead of a bass guitar hum. What subwoofers should I be looking for or what specification should I be looking for in them to achieve the above? I know JL Audio subs on reputation only, but what other brands are their? Are the CDT Versabox subs any good at the above since they're great on price?

Also, I've seen box pairs for 6x9" speaker and have seen subs for this size. Would it be better to find two 6x9" subs or one 8."

Not specifically. Every parameter plays its part.

However that is just a very nice driver for yours particular need.

Also, how do single/double voice coils affect things? One sales person mentioned that a SVC 4 ohm or DVC 2 ohm gets 2 ohms while a DVC 4 ohm or SVC 8 ohm gets 4 ohm.

My amp will do 300 watts @ 4 ohm. What type of sub do I need to get for that?

One DVC 4 ohm sub can be wired to 2 or 8 ohms.

One DVC 2 ohm sub can be wired to 1 or 4 ohms.

thank you..honestly there are tons of good subs on that 1 site..and you can really do all your shopping from there..i find myself going thru it more then i do ebay now since the prices are so cheap..
