Best subs+box configuration for 03 Dodge Ram

Hey I'm new here and I have been kicking around the idea of upgrading my subs and box. My current set up is in a 03 4 door Dodge Ram I had the back seat removed and a box built in place that houses two kicker comps and a kicker 300 amp . I also have Orion component speakers throughout. It's about 5 years old. I'm looking to get some more bass and still not loose sound quality and have been looking at putting 2 l7 12 in as a replacement with a zx1500.1 amp. I'm not sure what component speakers would work well with this set up as I like clarity and crisp music with good bass. Not good bass and crappy clarity. im trying to decide whether to leave the box in and exchange the subs, or just build a wall and face them forward. Also I will be upgrading the alternator to a 260 amp extreme and probably another battery if needed. Any ideas on what would be a good direction to go. Here is the overview of current system set up is run with 8 ga wire using the kicker 300 amp, 2 comp 12's in a ported box, Orion components, 4 tweeters and a jvc head unit.

Need a budget man. A lot of real good stuff out there that will get you slammin........

I was figuring around 1k just for the system not including batteries and alt etc
Not a bad budget. As far as subs, you can do way better than Kicker. Soundqubed hds, Sundown SA will fit well in that budget. The zx, however, is a good amp. Are you looking to go ported on the box? Hit hard? Hit low?

I want to have good deep bass that hits hard I need to do a hair trick :p so I still need to displace some air my current box is 49 1/2Lx 15"wx18h with a port eithe the subs facing the roof
