Honda + Subs = Rattles :(
I guess the title kind of says it. But basically, what are the best options for having a ported box in a vehicle with fold down seats? The box will be sealed off from the trunk with a panel that closes in the gaps of the box sealing the ports to only the cabin. I guess my question is... would it be better to have subs facing up, sealed into the trunk and the ports facing forward into the car? Or.... the subs AND the ports both facing forward into the car with the box sealed into the trunk. Having ports coming up through the rear deck is not an option as I don't want to cut any metal on this car.
And as a side note, lets say I need to have people in the back seats of my car... if I fold up the seats, granted the seats aren't physically hitting the subwoofer or surround, is there any damage or anything that can be caused by driving the subwoofers with the seat folded up. I just kind of assumed that with the seat up, it would be like a way-to-big sealed box or if some air can get through the armrest opening, it would just be a bit more constricted and lower the tuning frequency.
I'm not too much concerned about the tuning or if it will sound bad with the seats up, just so long as I can not worry about damaging my subs thru lack of dampening.
Sorry for the wall of text. Any suggestions would be appreciated //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif
