not an sq subNo one said a 12" or 15" Type R?, it will take the 500+rms and be a good on the wallet too.
the w6 is a very nice sub, but it is not perfection. there are a lot of subs out there that can do as good or better depending on the application. Besides, people like to try new stuff. Especially here.If you can afford it, why not just go with another W6? You said you liked it. There are other subs out there that are close to, or even on par with the W6, but why move away from perfection?
It wouldn't be a stretch at all to say the W6 is the best at providing all subwoofer attributes combined (and even better than W7). Sure there are better SPL subs, and probably other pure SQ subs that sound just as good, but I haven't heard one yet that combines both as well as the W6.the w6 is a very nice sub, but it is not perfection. there are a lot of subs out there that can do as good or better depending on the application. It's all subjective, but the W6 is not the end-all be-all sub. Nothing is. The W6 is great, but there are others out there that can outperform it. The majority depends on install though. It wouldn't be a stretch at all to say the W6 is the best at providing all subwoofer attributes combined (and even better than W7). I wouldn't even bother with the L7. The SQ won't even come close. The L7 is an SPL-geared sub and requires more power than you have to perform its best. If you don't want to buy new stuff, just stick with the W6. That's a very nice sub anyway.thanks for all the help ! gave me alote of good ideas. i have a 12 w6 and 12 inch L7 d4 im gonna try both of the (not at the same time) and see what i like. and maybe check out a few others. thanks
I don't believe that. There might be some that are better at one thing or another, but there aren't any that do everything as well as the W6 does. The W6 is great, but there are others out there that can outperform it.
Then you sir are ignorant. I haven't heard everything out there. Far from it. But there is always something else out there that is better. ALWAYS. Especially when talking about something as subjective as this. YOU may like the W6 more than anything else you've heard, and for good reason. The W6 is an awesome sub, no argument. The fact that YOU like it more doesn't make it the best sub ever. Another guy might prefer the sound of any number of subs. It all comes down to what sounds the best to the guy who ponies up the cash.I don't believe that. Take a chill pill dude! All I'm saying is the guy already has what most people consider to be the best all around sub on the planet AND he's already said he likes it. My point is, why fix something if it ain't broke? Then you sir are ignorant. I haven't heard everything out there. Far from it. But there is always something else out there that is better. ALWAYS. Besides, you may not have heard all the subs you've come into contact with in their optimal environment. The install is arguably the MOST important factor in how the system sounds.
Don't get me wrong, the W6 is a great recommendation, but saying it is THE BEST all-around sub on the market, without having heard every sub on the market in the right install, is just plain stupid. Any blanket statement like that is.
That said, the OP already has a W6, and likes it. If it were me, I'd install the W6 for now and go around listening to other stuff. There is no point in spending money on something you've never heard when you have a great sub laying around anyway. I'd have to like the other sub a **** sight better to justify upgrading (especially since many of the subs out there that can compete with the W6 aren't cheap), but I'd always be open to the possibility.
I understand and I agree that there is no reason to switch it up unless he finds a sub that he REALLY likes more. I just can't stand when people make blanket statements. One of my pet peeves. I've talked to a lot of people that really like the W6, but you're the first one that I've seen who's called it the "best all around sub on the planet." To be honest, most of the people who've come on here talking like that have been driven away by the flaming. Cotjones ring a bell? I just like to do what I can to make sure people are given accurate info.Take a chill pill dude!
