yeah it would be a lot easier just to do a ib throught the back seats...do i need to seal off everything in the trunk for the ib? how imperitive is sealing everything? i have no problem stripping everything out and just getting retarded on sealing... but don't want to go rediculously overboard if it isn't needed.
Yes the trunk has to be sealed completely from the cabin, count on a lot of sound deadening. Maybe some foam.
10's are better than 12's for sq right? or am i going to notice a difference in the idq's between the 10's and the 12's?
I don't think you will notice a difference in the Sound Quality of IDQ10's or IDQ12's.
Something you ahve to remember is, when Image Dynamics created these subs, they were built to be SQ beasts, the 12's and the 10's perform great.
The 12's will get "louder" due to cone area. But both will take 500-700 wrms on music all day. The main difference between the two subs outside of their size, is the airspace requirements, obviously IB it doesn't really apply, but sealed, the 12's require a little more airspace I believe.
I know I already pushed it on you, but seriously. Go over to those forums and ask Matt in the fabrication section about running IB in your car.
Main point, 12's or 10's will both sound great, it's really about preference and available space from there on.
I have 2 "mentors" who compete and they both run IDQ12v3's. And both of them are out to get the best of the best. The only reason I am running 10's which I am not even sure of yet, is because I am running sealed and I have a tiny trunk in my Prelude.
Though if I take on cutting up my car, I may get a IDW 15'' or 2 IDQ12's
Another note on ID's forum, just go make a log in and do some reading over there, look at the galleries and stuff to get some ideas.
