best SQ sub for hatchback?

Hello all, This is my first post here. I am in the process of doing a ground-up system on my new '08 Honda Fit Sport. As of right now, I have an Alpine 9886, and over 70sq ft of Dynamat Extreme in the car, and I will be putting another 70+ sq ft of deadening and 100+sq ft of insulation/foam. After that, the next step is a sub... I already have a handful of mediocre subs (infinity 1x 1252W, 2x 850w, 1x Blaubunkt Vw 1000, and 2x Power Acoustic FUBAR 12.) from previous installs. I want to do this car right the first time.

I am not going to be picky, I would be fine with a couple 8's, a 10, or a 12. My only concern is sound quality and accuracy, with very little emphasis on SPL. I will be powering the sub most likely from an A/B channel amp, power depending on the Ohm load and the amp I end up with. Also, this is going to be a sealed enclosure, the smaller the better for space reasons, but it has no specific size limitations. I was looking at JL, Alpine, ID, Cerwin Vega, RE, Infinity Kappa Perfect, Rainbow, Polk, MB Quart, and Focal... I know, its alot... But I have no idea what is going to be top-dog for SQ :s Any help would be appreciated!

BTW, I have searched and read through the forum for days... I have found alot of people rep the ID and RE subs. I just want to collect as many opinions from people that have actually had experience with these subs as I can. I.E. If the only subs you've had experience with are Rockford and Memphis, I'm not at all concerned with SPL, and I have listened to my fair share of setups. I am very, very, VERY picky when it comes to accuracy and quality. I have no intentions of making other people listen to my music at obnoxious levels, or being able to hear me coming down the road //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

10" Icon, or Q ported. Or 12 ported if you can fit it. Tune low, and you'll have good SQ and still be decently loud if you ever want to.

A good sealed choice would be 1 or 2 of the new mags, they only call for a foot sealed each.

Peerless XXLS or the XLS Autosound models

Aura NS

Dayton HO

Boston Acoustics Pro series

Arc Audio Arc series (ID made)

Hertz 12" mille ml 3000 got a 88/100 possible score in car audio mag and a 47/50 in sound quality. The 12" jl audio w6 got a 90/100 in car audio mag and a 45/50 in sound quality. I would personally bet u my left testicle that u would love either of those subs. Their reviews can be found at caraudiomag.com and if u google those subwoofers they can be found also. The jl audio 12 w6 was voted "best subwoofer tested" by the magazine.

I would have to plug the SI Mag V4 also. It hasn't been out for very long to build its reputation yet, but its most certainly an all out SQ sub. I have a pair in my truck and its the first time for SQ subs and its certainly a whole different world. I have bass but no subs is best way to describe the sound. A pair will give some pretty good output, still not SPL style but its crystal clear right up to the top voume which is a whole nother world least for me.

I would look at

SI Mag V4

IDQ v3

JBL WGTi

Dayton Ref HO

and JL Audio W6
