very fair question!!
they need to be 12 because that is simply what i want and how i have designed and budgeted space and tuning.

they need to be dual 4 because i am using one amp for each driver. each amp is only stable to 2 ohms. 300w at 4ohm and 420 at 2ohms. cant put d2 load on the amp //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Well, if you decide you can live with 10s, my ID OEMs will do just fine on 300w each. LMK if you change your mind.

Also just curious, are your amps the Eclipse XA1000? Those are the only ones I can think of with that output

The Class D sub channels of the Kicker 3 and 5 channel amps have that same rating, too.
