best SQ sub for 100-140 dollars

RE SE's can be had for $160 shipped... nice sub.

kicker CVR's even...
cvrs can sound decent, but for that price range, their are far better sounding subs for sq.

Rsdc's can be had for that price range, that would be on my list.along with the rsds, idq, the se's are nice aswell. Alot of choices to choose from for that price range. Also alot of underground brands.

no no no no.

head on over to diyma forums.

diymobileaudio.com if your into sq first off.

second off. only logical recommendation from experience was the idq recommendation and re se.

however you have even better options than that.

I strongly suggest the dayton ho 10, 12, 15. what ever fits your bill. personally id suggest 2 10's in a 1.2 cu ft box net but if you just want 1 12 it would be better if the box were 1 cu ft. the daytons have great low end response. quick transitions and very punchy. warm sound characteristic with a great element of realism added to drums and bass guitars.

id suggest you order them from artofnoiseaudio.com he is a member over on diyma and has a great little site. he can order anything u need from partsexpress.com

another driver i think that might fit your bill is the audiopulse epic drivers. which follow the very respected classic the tc sounds 2000+ design.

Let me know if there anything else i can help you with.

read my post above:p:

i would go with re se's personally. excellent sq and still can get decently loud while requiring small sealed enclosure. run away from a cvr if your wanting sq. had many and sq is poop. american bass xd's arent bad either, i have one xd12 and it sounds nice.

I apperciate the advice.

Yes. the dayton HO drivers you mentioned do look appealing. However, I should have mentioned before, I need DVC 4 drivers to be able to maximize my amp output. at 4ohm i will only be able to get 300w which i believe is not a very good match for the dayton HO drivers that you mentioned which ask for 700w @4ohm. the dayton dvc drivers that are available ask for 300w per coil however i have no information or experience with those. maybe you could provide your input.

I am doing this current install on a 2005 Saab 93 linear turbo which i bought together with my wife using the fumes of our student loans which remain after barely finishing our graduate degrees in europe and work in THE SLUMS OF Nairobi.

As i have to compromise with her over this investment i have agreed that she can still have access to the spare tire area on the car after all is installed. In the real world this means i have to build a wedge shaped enclosure and use drivers that have no more than a 6.2" mounting depth.

To solve the problem of all the amplifiers, I am planning on building a sexy amp rack that can be easily removed from its connection with the sub box by connecting EVERYTHING using heavy duty AC plugs ( a topic for another thread).

Anyway, I should have been more specific from the beginning. I need DVC4 drivers that sound fantastic and meet the specifications outlined above. I would like a high sensitivity (90 or above) to maximize my amplifiers' output and minimize current draw as i am not going to upgrade any alternators on this build and use stock electrical save the big 3 (if possible, which many have indicated is very difficult on this model of SAAB.)

No one yet has commented on the MB Quart shallow drivers i mentiond or the MB Quart earlier reference drivers (which have a 92db sensitivity)

Being a trained Jazz musician, I have had audiophile tastes when it comes to the equipment that i use in my home. As far as mobile audio, my boat has been my BIG build and the whole point of that has been to get as loud as possible. With this build i want to exercize my ability to get a little loud but sound very good at the same time working with a budget. hmmmmm....

Thanks again for the tips.
