best sq sub (cost is not a factor)

And so far as I know, the Velodyne servo control I mentioned earlier is still about the best SQ sub available. But it doesnt get very loud (125db's is its cutoff iirc), but hey, its for SQ.

From what I hear, the W7 is supposed to be capable of distortion levels as low as the velodyne and with more output capabilities. Never measured myself (or even heard a Velo...LOL), that's just what I've heard.

Also, forgot to mention the PG Cyclone //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif

Not the nice servo-controlled stuff //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif It's also not the servo-controlled Velodyne car series that audioholic and I are talking about (since it hasn't been produced in years)

Yeah too bad they dont make the automotive version anymore. That's interesting aout the W7 putting out as low of distortion levels, I had not heard that before.

Ive yet to hear a cyclone, but I want to very badly. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

can someone explain how the cyclone works to me? it looks crazy

I got a Velodyne servo controlled 12'' in my HT, and let me tell you it sounds pretty **** good. I probably bought it about 4-5 years ago. You might be right about the 125 dB thing, but who needs SPL in HT anyways or any SQ application? I didn't even know there were servo CA subwoofes.

I like IDQ's for sq, stereo integrity magnum, too many people in this thread are recommending subs they have never heard that shouldn't be mentioned as an sq sub.

the focal utopia is possibly one of the smoothest woofers ive heard. They polykevlar wasnt that grea though. Id consider getting one but the price doesnt justify what it may have over my mag.
