Best sq only sub. not sql

maybe i should say this too. this sub will be in a small sealed box. it needs to fit in the back of extra cab truck. maybe like 2cu feet max. which sub would sound best sq wise in that space. like a 90sq/10spl blend is what i want.

I've never heard the RE subs, or the Adire Audio subs. Other than that, I've heard the Diamond TDX, the JL W7, and the ID MAX.

ID MAX wins hands down in sound quality. I have never heard musicality in bass like that produced by the new IDMAX. (12D2v.3 specifically).

Now, like the others said, the sub itself represents only 40% of the overall sound quality in a system. 60% of the sound quality is a direct result of the quality of the INSTALL.

Um, how has nobody mentioned this. Get the Stereo Integrity Magnum D2, it will beat any of the subs mentioned easily in SQ and will be on par or better than the IDMAX

Just make sure you go with a sealed, relatively small box 12". No matter how well made a 15 or a ported 12 is, they just dont have the accurate music reproduction that a sealed 12 has. 10s on the other hand while being tight and accurate are incapable of hitting low notes as effortlessly as a 12 can. Image Dynamics makes very accurate 12s.

Yup, because in SQ there is a best sub //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Who cares if people's opinions vary ? Doesn't matter, because sub "x" is the best thing in the world //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Well, i can try... I'm guessing you've heard each different type, right? A small box sealed twelve will hit very crisply, and has the ability to hit the entire spectrum of bass frequencies w/o any trouble. The size of the cone is what determines the tone. A 15 will hit very powerfully, but have trouble recreating higher bass tones, essentially making everthing sound deeper than it is. A 10 on the other hand, will have trouble making deeper tones, so they will sound higher pitched. Ports will make a sub hit deeper, but not give an accurate crisp hit. They make bass sound softer, smoother, and deeper. sealed box 12s make the most accurate music reproduction. I'm not an expert on this stuff, I'm just basing this on my observations, and pretty much everyone else I have talked to has agreed. Maybe someone can fill in the actual technical reasons.

Someone had better menton Eclipse titanium or aluminum drivers here. Just because you cannot buy them on the net does not mean that they are not an amazing driver. For the person who wants to research their investment and wants a really good sq driver, head into the authorized dealer and find out about these subs. It is really amazing on how you can go from forum to forum and in some the only ones that are asked about are the ones that are found online or cater to this type of sales marketing. Is a RE XXX a JL W7, no it is not, they do entirely different tasks, as does a Titanium Eclipse. If you want to spend your hard earned dollars, look outside of the box as well. The box and amp is also going to do with the performance of that sub in the vehicle, there are many other factors to consider as well.

Yeah....beacuse I said it was the best sub in the world and everything....
No, but you did say that it will beat everything listed above in the sound quality department and is on the same level if not better than the IDMAX.

What may sound good to you may sound like crap to someone else --- so saying something is the best in the sound quality world just doesn't make any sense at all. At least use, "in my opinion" next time to clarify.

This is very true....
If you check out some of the expensive brands, you see that the equipment they use is just ok. The install is absolutely perfect though.
You guys aren't talking about "high end" home speakers are you? Like

Mirage, Klipsch, Paradigm, B&W, or Definitive Technology? Because these brands use very good drivers and in NO way shape or form would they use "Marginal" parts in their speakers. I agree that "design" is the most crucial part of a loudspeaker but you can't get optimal performance with "ok" drivers.
