Best SQ? 1 sub or 2?

Just curious if you get better SQ with one sub or 2.... I'm running 2 - JL audio 10w6v2's and I have 2 of them in a sealed enclosure. My current sub amp doesnt have enough power to drive both of them nicely. It does drive 1 of them well. (Profile msx 600).

Wondering if you usually get better note definition (bass guitar, etc) off 2 subs or just 1?

I wouldnt think it would matter a huge amount. But if you have 2 of those sweet subs and you powered it with that amp, I am guessing you got the subs cheap and dont have much money to invest in a good amp. That is the boat I am in anyway, lol! I would ditch that amp and get a jl 1000/1 to power them and "BAM" you will be shitting yourself. Peace!

LOL Big bang. your just about right! I DID get the subs cheap. I originally was running an old bazooka on that Profile. I did recently just purchase an old Lanzar mono block amp to drive both subs...but I'm having some issues with it and I think I'm going to return it. (See other thread thats being ignored in amp section).

The final straw on the Lanzar is when I hooked both subs up to it and there was NO punch at all. I've been running just 1 of the 10s for a month on the Profile and it sounded good ....with pretty good SQ.

But your right...I dont have a ton of money to spend on an amp. Maybe $200 or so. I'm thinking about a directed 1100D or 1500D off Ike sound.

theoretically, more woofers means less movement required to reproduce the same listening levels, less movement of the cone is gonna give you more cone control, more cone control is going to give you better transients, better transient response is going to be more SQ, and im going to end this post with a great big run on sentence, but its all personal preference, power, enclosure space, install, etc...

LOL Analog...that WAS the original intent. Reason I ask is I have 2...and dont know if 1 will sound better. I wont know for sure until I find the right amp...BUT...if I dont need to purchase a different amp I dont want to. With the used amp I just purchased....2 definitely sound worse than 1...but I think the amp is bad.
