Yikes!I live in Southern new hampshire now... If I was commuting from salem to portland a GM vehicle would be fine for the freeway commute... go mapquest milford NH to boston MA... ignore the route and look at the web of backroads that will likely become my commute.... a sports sedan is a must
my wife had an e30 325i in oregon and I didn't like it....e30 bmw 325ix //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
The Audi's are a thought.... but they are owned by VW... ewwww...Yikes!
Audi Quattro if you want to spend some money.
Any Chrysler K-car if you want to go cheap. Mine handled Utah winter driving just fine and that's snow country too.
After hearing you're in New England, I'd say go cheap and let the winter car take a beating in a good cause...LOL! Then buy whatever your dream car is for the non-snow times!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

That's because you haven't tried hard enough I guess...LOL!It's fugly and I'm not a lesbian....
I'm not going to commute ever in a K-car.... *shudder*... I'd rather ride a tri-cycleThat's because you haven't tried hard enough I guess...LOL!
On a more serious note: NE USA winters usually leave cars thrashed. Get a cheap FWD car for your winter needs. Those K-cars are a few hundred dollars. You get it wrecked or it rusts out, you throw it away and buy another. Keep your good car put up during the winter, whatever good car you happen to buy.
