Best SPL sub for comps for the money

i havent seen any1 recommned a few funky pup's. Id do 1 funky pup 8, in roughly 10.5cubes tuned to 2hz and strap a pair of sundown 3,000s on it. This setup would be killer!

L7 for that amount of power, or Type R would work to with 2000 a piece
You dont need "the best spl sub for comps" to hit a 150

You dont even need a SPL sub, just good subs

AQ isnt an SPL sub.....maybe some got the question mixed up
Maybe someone got their brands mixed up AQ puts up great # for the $$

Audioque HDC3 is an SPL sub? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Its rated at 1000 watts rms

Maybe we just have totally diff definitions of SPL subs:)
Having a 8 layer aluminum flatwound 3in coil, tripple stacked magnets and a Fs of around 40 makes it sound like somewhat of an spl sub. I wouldn't consider it a hardcore spl sub, but it does lean to that side, imo. Their rating is also very conservative, imo. I borrowed my buddies HDC315 for a week and really liked it.

People run 2500+ to the HDC3 daily

Yeah I think that any sub doing great # shoudl be considered a SPL sub or at least considered in the "Best SPL sub for comps for the money" thread. So a $150 type R that can do 150db's in a single cab truck is definitly a SPL sub on this thread.

Mach 5 SPL subs are of course some of the best subs for the $$

and AQ 12" are only $229 each

"J. Ledgerwood’s 4- HD312's set USACI world record in SB3 (157.1) 30 second average on music CD"
