Best Speakers without an amp?

ok i am new to car audio so please help me

I have a 2004 pontiac grand am with an alpine cda-9884 head unit

i am looking to eventually put a subwoofers in the trunk in the future

Right now i am currently looking for 2 4x6 door speakers and 2 6x9 rear speakers that are good quality and can run off the head unit because i am on a budget and cant afford an amp right now, so please help me with any suggestions of what kind of speakers would be good for me to power off of my alpine head unit.

honestly, most aftermarket speakers will be much better than stock. What's your budget?

that include for the subs?

I would stay away from a 5 channel amp and get a D-class amp for the sub.

A d-class amp is an amp that is dedicated to powering subs.

no that does not include subs....i have about 250-300 to spend on 4 speakers...i was just wondering if there were any good speakers i could buy without an amp at the moment cuz i know they can get expenisve...later on in the future i was going to get subs and an amp to just power the subs not the speakers

Hm, I would buy 2 sets of speakers for 200 then a decent 4 channel for 100, then get a wiring kit from wally world, but that's just me. If your newer to car audio this would be a great start to get your feet wet.

Could you, yes

Would I recommend it, no. I would get a class D amp for subs, thats what they are meant for.

Just save your money, and get some decent equipment. You could find all the stuff I told you for pretty cheap in the classifieds section.

yea. as for killing the battery, don't worry about it. only if you have a bigger system.

you can easily get 2 decent sets of speakers and a 4 channel amp to power them for 250 or under.

I've had a decent experience with Polk db's running off the deck, but you'll definitely thank yourself if/when you get an external amplifier.

the id ctx speakers are great for drop in replacements and do fine running of deck power.
