best speakers for around $300?

lookin for 6.5's comps... that can handle a real 110 rms @ 4 ohms or 150 @ 2 ohms... since my memphis audio speakers just blew up i would at least like to try to find something equal or better if possible... was lookin at the alpine type x's.. but theres so many choices and deals on the inet that i dont even know where to begin lol and would prefer SQ more then SP but still want them to be loud =) so any suggestions would be appreciated

also lookin at focal 165KF, boston pro's, or ecplise SC8264

i heard really good things about the boston acoustics..

Those are all very different. I would look around and try to listen to them with your own ears.

Focal and Alpine Type-X are two completely different sounds. I would pick the Alpine, but someone that prefers a brighter tweeter would go for the Focal.
