my Kenwood has that feature.

Clearly you are confused. What you said makes no sense, mosfet is not a feature, is the amplifier's design. Its either mosfet based, or its not. Your internal amp may be defeatable, but you cannot turn off the mosfet circuitry. Even if you could, why would you want to.

The amp section of the 9835 is a beast. I could see people being happy running a comp set from it.

well i can turn off the internal amp in my Kenwood. why i would do that is because i have a 4 channel and a 2 channel running all my speakers. i turn the amp off in the radio so it runs cooler. no need to have it on if im not using it.

and obviously when i wasnt using the amps and only the deck for sound and i turned internal amp off no sound came out.

Your friend is referring to the DynamicSoundstageOrganizer. It works suprisingly well for kickpanel speakers. I have yet to hear another deck bring the stage (seemingly) up to ear level like that feature does. BBE has nothing to do with that. Most of their decks now have that in addition. I would say the SQ is decent on a good chunk of sony decks, but definitely not the best.
