Looking for input on best sound quality in head units among Pioneer, Sony ES, Sony Xplod, Kenwood and Panasonic by actual listening experience not by brand loyalty.

Thanks

-Carlos

Personally, I'd go with Pioneer. I've owned the DEH3400 and now I have the DEH P6400. They are extremely hight quality in sound and everything else. After that, I would go with Kenwood. My friend has a Kenwood (can't remember the model) and it's very nice too. It's sound quality was impressive. Sony isn't horrible, but they have better looks than quality....sound or otherwise. My brother bought an xplod HU and it was crap. It worked for about 2 months, then it stopped taking cd's....then, he got it replaced with the next model up (thank u sony) and the same thing happened...plus a few "extras". He then bought a Pioneer. That's just my view.

you could get posts from 30 different people and get 25 different opinions.... so here is my 2 cents...... of the brands mentioned I would frefer a SONY ES unit (not xplod!) or pioneer premeir unit. I have heard, sold and installed all of the brands mentioned, so i feel that I have a pretty unbiased opinion. That said, my personal favorite head is Eclipse. They have the cleanest outputs in my opinion and they also have good track records as far as length of service.

hope this helps

Yes. That is another factor I like about Polk Audio speakers. They can dig a bit deeper than the majority of components within the same price...
