two idmax 10s would be good. how set are you on the 8's

Not very set at all. I sold my lvl 3s and dint wanna dump thousands of $$$ into new alternators bigger batteries more wire and an extra 500 pounds to my car. So I'm gout more practical.

I'm old lol. Last "sq" setup I had was back in high school in 98. 2 soundstream ss 10s and a soundstream 10.0

My buddy who was always competing with me ran an eslipse Ti and an idmax. But that was 5 yrs ago I had my w7.

What's the difference wig the new v3 idmax and idq

The IDQ is the superior sounding sub, the idmax will get a bit louder. IMO the IDQ is a much better all around sub. You can almost get 2 idq's for the price of one idmax too so to me it is a no brainer.

well... there's two ways to go... find suggestions from people with experience... or find drivers with a low EBP... or some combination of both

anybody have any low EBP suggestions/experience?

I run my AE 15's up to 125hz at 24db/octave. They can definetly play as high as you need them too, 2k on axis lol. Bit nicer than an IDMAX and cheaper to boot.

Stop wasting your time and money, Hertz HX300 are better than IDQv3 for sure.

I have 2 12" JBL P1224 running on a JBL GTO 1400.1 @ 4 ohm (1200RMS) in dual sealed chamber 1.2 Cu.

This setup has to be the most versatile I have ever had.. Super low end extension.. hard hitting 'punchy base' overall good for all music types and even SPL tracks.. bottom line is very tight and responsive...

Last time I had it checked at the local shop was hitting 139.xx mainly due to my amp is not pushing full power (Alt and bat sux big time)

Cons: They are 12" with JBL Plus one cone.. they are 15" in diameter including the basket.. custom box needed..

Power rating is under rated.. these monsters like power!

Idq or 10w6. I know the w7 is there flagship but imo the w6 is superior in sq. The price taag along with jl's policy's would scare most true audiophiles off
