Best set-up for SQL in single cab

Ive been trying to get find the right setup for high SQ but still loud enough to shake the truck. Now its only a single cab dodge so its not too difficult to fill the cab with vibrations. Ive done a shallow mount MTX TT65 sealed, the SQ was pretty decent but it couldn't hit the low notes or get terribly loud. I have a JBL power 10 ported now at about 2cube net @ 28Hz that honestly just got too loud and SQ wasn't very good not to mention it didnt hit alot of notes being tuned so low and a box so large. The box is being redone to 1.25 @ 40Hz and having all the edges sealed up with fiberglass(or somthing builders not positive yet). If im not gettin the SQ/SPL combo im looking for you think it would be better to look for a higher sq 10 or go with 2 8's? I can fit up to about 2cu or so wedge behind my seat. If i was using 8's i could prob do a rectangle box with subs facing upwards. Anyone have input? Have a audiopipe APSM1300 and memphis PRD1000.1 as possible amps both do 300 @ 4, 600 @ 2 and 1000 @ 1. Pretty sure the memphis dose more like 1100-1150 @ 1

I don't know if its just me but with small trucks you can get away with higher tuning and still he able to play low. My sub tuned to 37hz will play down to 28hz then a huge roll off at 27hz. Try tuning mid 30's and I'm sure a single 10 should be more than enough for an sq system. I've heard an idmax 10 in a ported enclosure and it sounded really nice.

yea my builders going to have the box redone a lil later today, hes going for 35-40Hz. Along with that and the box being JBL specified size it should turn out much better. Ill let u know! Ive heard these JBL's are suppose to be some of the best single 10 systems

40hz is wayyy too high for a daily box imo. I wouldnt go above 35hz for daily, 33hz is perfect for daily imo. It all depends on what kind of music you listen to. I listen to a wide variety (hiphop, dubstep, progressive trance, metal, indie rock, drum n bass) but I want the lows to have some authority. I have found that 33hz gives me a very musical sound, where I can pick up double bass drum kicks(Atreyu) and bass guitar notes (Tool) as they are strummed and then pick up regular guitar notes (Dire Straits) and then crush the lows (Young Jeezy) and it all sounds natural and how the artist intended it to sound. Equipment also plays a role, but not as much as the box does.

What is your budget for a sub OP?

i agree, you should tune it to low 30s not highs. and image dinamics makes a great ten for sealed or ported, check out tacotunes, they use image dinamics and there systems are amazing. all stelth and very loud! but still extremely clean and sound great. look them up on youtube

Well this JBL is almost new and ive read so many great reviews on it. I really think its the box, im skeptical about going for 30's because it was a 26 or so and nothing really hit. I like the sound i get out of sealed enclosures, and im told there centered around 40-45Hz. So im thinking if i go ported at 40 or so ill like the sound. Dose that logic make since?
