Best Quality Amps Ever?

That is NOT an Art Series amp. It is an AM series amp in white. The Art Series had plugs for all connections (not nearly as bad as the previous poster thinks since they're the exact same plugs used by all my Orions that I've had ZERO problems with) no visble fins and one side of the amp had a circular profile while the other side had a triangular profile.

the old school ppi amps are my favorite amps of all time.....i have a bunch of them........

I do think the PPI PC/PCX series amps were very well built.

PPI art series

The Oz Audio pyramid amp

Esoteric amps were very well built

First Class A Sound Stream amps.

Unfortunately Carver amps were kind of cheap build but sounded awesome.

The AM amps were available in black or white, same model number for each. The Art Series were available in black or white and the the model number was the same for each. With the AM series the model nomenclature was the number of channels (first digit) and the power per channel (last 3 digits) followed by AM, I don't remember what the AM stood for but the "A" was not for "art." The Art Series had model numbers that started in "A" for Art. The high current models for each were the ProMOS with the AM series and the ProArt for the Art Series. You can continue to argue and you can continue to be wrong.

As far as the plugs for the Art Series, they are functionally identical to the plugs on the Orions as they were made by the same company (Orion and PPI were both part of the parent company ADST along with a/d/s prior to the DEI buyout). The Orion plugs were black and the PPI plugs were white. I never had a problem with the plugs because I knew that the power plugs with the tabs were made for 8ga and I replaced them with 4ga plugs that have a bigger hole and no tab. I also removed the tabs on all my speaker plugs and they hold great as well. Work even better if you only snug them instead of trying to torque them down as hard as possible.

Hmm.. well they are awfully large holes for 8ga. 4 ga fits fine, just slides out pretty easy. I can see it being better if you removed the tabs. Not a bad idea. I never had the problem with the speaker/remote wires.

The am's and the pro mos were pre art series. The art series replaced the am and pro mos line. Thus the similarities.

Both quality amps for sure.

i am not arguing with anybody, i was just asking a question and offering my opinion.......

so you do not know what the a stands for but you know its not for art..?lol so im wrong?

and i know what the numbers mean...i have a room full of them.....

and how am i wrong if i call a ppi amp that is white with the artwork on top a art series amp.....? they all have artwork on the tops..(except the black ones.).. if you know it all then enlighten me....if not dont tell me im wrong when you dont know the answer....

The ol' skool Rockford punch amps, the Phoenix Gold white and gold MS- series amps, and the HCCA Orions are some of my ol skool favorites. At the moment, I'm stuck on my US Amps.

The amps that are in my other 200sx. My pair of USA 2000's and my chrome 4300x. Sold the US-X3 and have an AudioControl DQX in place of it.
