best punchy daily use 12"?

i was thinking about just buying a single 12" sub to put into my trunk, instead of my 2 L7's, just because of space...but I have a perfectly mint Kx1200.1 amp (actually at 1464) that I would like to use...any suggestions on a loud/mainly SQ/Punch type bass sub? it will be used on a daily basis, put in a smaller trunk (626) and money isnt really TOO much of a factor, under a grand would be excellent...

it looks the the RE's are up there but the SX models rms is 1000 and the amp is just under 1500...appreciated

i personally hate putting the word best in a question, so i apologize for the cliche title...i guess it was more like, "hey any suggestions for a daily use subwoofer in the 12" range that could handle a 1400 watt amp at 1 ohm and also have great SQ with serious punch?" but thats a long title...and the search works fine, and i have checked it out, ive been reading up for a little over a day now in an attemp to find something that meets the criteria, but everyone eles questions are geared towards their needs, this is for my needs...i know im new to the site, but come on, im not the only one who asks questions like this...

i would probably go with ported, since most of the higher end stuff recommends it anyways, but i guess it depends on the sub...i have a space of roughly 30w x 20d x 18t, and there is room for a deeper box, but width and heigt are pretty maxed out...

i think after doing some reading, im interested in the 13w7, 12w7, type-x and the orion h2 12.2...ive heard a 12w7 before, and i know they are very powerful, and they have very good punch on them from what i have heard...ive never heard th 13w7 or the orion h2, but i know someone who swears by the orion's and they require limited cu.feet for a single application i think 1.25-1.75 are suggested for 1 12.2...im leaning towards to the orion, i wonder how well the kx1200 will do on it

I read an article in Car Audio mag. I am pretty sure that said the H2 was definatley not a good buy. I have owned a 12w7 and although powered by a 500/1 it was very impressive.

Orion H2 is an impressive sub. IMO a little power hungry though, I had 1500wrms on my orion H2 15 and it pretty much laughed at it and begged for more. For the price you can get them new for off ebay I would say they are a good buy. Retail price, no.

alright, im interested in the SI Mag D2 12" now, i listened to the 13w7 today, and its nice, but i dont think its worth it for the amount of money, thats just me, i mean i could get an oz power sub for the same price and blow it out of the water...the guy at the shop i listened to the 13w7 at also stated that the orion h2's wouldnt do exactly what i wanted and the amount of power required doesnt justify it (which i guess falls in line with what celler said above)...but he say alot of positive things about the mags and he said it he had no doubt that it would do the trick...its been a long time since ive heard a SI and ive never heard a mag2, but based on the "research" the bms are excellent and the mags are just that muuch better....

plus if im not mistaken i can get away with a smaller enclosure for the mag, i think it calls for 1.5 tuned at 32hz?
