Best Power Adder?

Hey guys,

I've done some research and was wondering what would be the best option to choose between a cap, optima battery, or a HO alternator. I'm leaning against the HO Alt and Cap because of the alts price, and what I've read on caps. Is it true that they really don't do much at all for your stereo, and are just a waste of money? If I went with the Optima battery, would it be enough with the stock 105 or 100amp alternator to power 2 L7s w/candence z7000 1500rms amp accordingly? Thanks for the help

hook the bat up and see if it helps, if not get a alt. I'm running a PA3000 @2ohms right now with stock EVERYTHING with no problems. I don't get dimming but i to time to set it with DMM and then went down from there until i didn't get bad voltage drops. still get drops on some songs that play lower then others but trial and error is your friend.

do your big 3 first.....I have 3000 watts in my truck with a stock ALT no cap and just a big3 and it hangs fine,I get some dimming but nothing crazy

then I added a 260A alt and while there was an improvment it wasent all

that earth shattering as I was hoping

very funny... the big 3 truly helps... my 80 amp stock alt was fine with 1000w of class a/b amps at full tilt with the big 3....

^^ this is the correct way to do it

1. Big 3 -> if you need more go to step 2

2. HO alt -> if you need more your're doing SPL comps or something is wrong

3. If you battery is old/weak get the optima
