alright so i got some cheap kenwood components a couple months ago, while im saving for some better ones. they arent' half bad, but they have exaclty ZERO midbass. anywho, im looking for a pair of comps that sound great and that are not reliant to much on install and sound deadening. any ideas? thanks!

looking for a 2- way set. priced to about 1k.

well i dont mind having a good install but i mean, i dont want to deaden anything for weight purposes. since i do track my car occasionally. but im looking for the best speakers i can get without having to dead anything.

also i do not plan to keep this car as my daily driver for to much longer, so taht's why i just want to get the system i want so when i do get a new car i wont have to buy anything new other than a good install.

wouldnt worry to much about the weight, i track my 93 rx7 everyonce in awhile, and put 2 layers of deadener in each door. Gave alot more bass to, not to bad for a car pushing 440 rwhp at 2800 lbs at 15 psi by 3500rpm //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Well for the speakers i'd suggest some HD-63 braxial mounts. Components but the tweet is mounted on a custom grill right above the woofer. Very nice sounding and good midbass response. As for the Evo, they're definitely heavy but a few little mods in the engine and you'll be good. And dynamat doesn't add too much weight but combine that with a box and you could be like me having 150lbs extra added into the car.

I'd avoid the CDT's.

Image Dynamics Chameleons, Boston Acoustics Pro and Z series and Memphis Syncs all have the same ability to "co-axially mount", and sound better than the CDT's.

If co-axial mounting isn't a concern of yours, also look into DLS, Seas Lotus, OZ Audio and Rainbow.

well i would like to have components like the ones i have now. i have my woofer in the doors and tweets in the a pillar. i might end up going with seas lotus..havent heard a bad thing yet from them.

anyone know of a good spray on deadener..or paint? i might as well just use that on the inside of the doors..they might be lighter than the dynamat.
