IMO on a floor where it can't fall,can't have anything else fall or smash into it, and has plenty of space for air circulation.

My second location is on the back of the rear seats.

i generally avoid mounting my amps on the sub box since I don't like to put holes in my sub boxes. and if your box isn't well made it will vibrate and vibrations are very VERY bad for amps

cause you get more deebeez mah man...you have to multiply the output of the subwoofer and the actual voltage the amp sees. Then you take that answer and divide it by your amplifiers wattage rating, then you square that answer. Then, and only then, will you be able to tell how many deebeez you will hit...
