if you're good with comps, utorrent

if you're not good with comps (and be honest with yourself) shareaza

torrents are faster, and have the advantage of downloading entire albums/discographies at once, but it's honestly a ***** and a half to setup correctly

and on the same coin, shareaza isn't 100% as fast, but is a breeze to setup, and is the only gnutella client i've ever used that doesn't suffer from the infamous slowdown overtime

if you got banned from gnutella or gnutella2 for not sharing/etc. then that's not gonna work for you either, tho

what is hard about it?

you need to setup port forwarding or triggering to get a direct connection to the internet, and if you have any spyware/virus/firewall programs you need to gain direct access through them, or you wont get full advantage

torrents work on a ratio, so if you're unable to share with people, you wont be able to download either.......

once you get it setup correctly, tho, you'll be pulling the full connection speed constantly, since it's based on hundreds of connections, versus 1 or someties 2 connections per file like gnutella

the last time i ever used morpheus, i tried downloading that jarhead movie, and it ended up being ****, after suffering through like 30kB/s download speed for a few days........

now i can download entire seasons of shows in the time it took me to download single movies off of gnutella, and they're real every time

true, this HAS been discussed..

and it's not a filesize ratio, more just a system to make sure you ARE uploading at a reasonable speed for your connection......

if you have cable, and you're constantly downloading at 600kB/s, they'll limit your download speeds if you're uploading slower than 20kB/s or so

I didn't mean you talking about Torrents, I meant every week someone asking what/where is the best place to download music. I don't want to sound like an asshat to the OP but this has been covered a lot on this forum...
