best HU without internal amp??

Im looking for a good headunit that doesn't come with an internal amp.. just rca hookups.. what do you guys think? Is there such a thing anyway?

You could look into an HU that you can disable the internal amp.

Clarion DRZ9255, Denons, Nakamichi CD700mkII, Rockford 8240 and 8250, this list goes on and on. Typically they are highend decks and rather expensive.

Yep, all Alpine's starting with 79 are dead heads.

7949, 7998, 7939, 7940, 7941, 7969 etc.

it does seem there are less dead heads these days. I had a CDA-7995, liked it, but required externals to get what one w/ Bass Pro would have.

I used an alpine 7940 for years in multiple cars. I replaced it with many more expensive decks(kenwood x911, alpine 9815, premier 930 and kept going back. It was by far the cleanest, warmest deck I have owned. I ended up finally giving it up due to laziness and conformity. Unfortunatly it lacked mp3 and onboard processing. I refuse to buy an Ipod and am too lazy to mess with an external processor.
