you sturrin at me brah?
i getting ready to buy some 2 way components for my ***** am in the next few weeks. i'll be running them off an orion 8004. i am a member over at a third gen f-body forum (camaros and firebirds) and there are a couple of members who are skilled in making kick panels for these cars. most of them are ib but they can be made sealed. i'm not sure yet exactly what im going to get but i am leaning towards the rainbow soundlines. i see them at speedsound.com for 280 or 290, but i can't find them anyplace else for sale with google. is there better deals (new) to be found online?

i am waiting to read some of the reviews for the ology speakers before i spend anything, but i imagine i would need the same kick panels for basically any components. do i want ib or sealed, and if sealed, how big? i am looking for good midbass to fill in the gap between my kappa 4x6's and my rl-p 12's. i am not running a dedicated midbass driver so i want some good response out of my components. am i headed in the right direction?

pm ology audio for the link to his reviews. he has some killer reviews. I would also suggestion looking into Image Dynamics. Either the Chameleon or if you have room the CS1s because they include a horn.

You have PM

ok so im a lazy bastard, so i'll probably go sealed so i dont have to go to the trouble of sealing off an ib setup. i can't find any recommended enclosure specs though. any ballpark figures on how much airspace i will want for 6.5's?

you have alot of options lol my old world finals car was a 87 formula firebird. very good horn car very good kick panel car as well. you can in a days time even make room for giganic kicks that you dont even hardly see.

can you elaborate on the horn setups a little? where and how were they mounted? i've never even heard a horn before, what sort of a sound do they produce, and would i be able to run a component set plus horn, plus 4x6's with a 4 channel amp?

did you make your own kick panels?

if you went horns you wouldnt need the 4x6 at all. i helped on the kicks but when i bought the car it already had the welded box in there (along the fire wall) if you decide to do that you can totally hide the midbass and still image well. as far as the way that it sounded it finished second to bud wentz by 1 point at world finals then it won12 regular shows and placed at 2 nationals which is pretty solid. you could do the cd1-e set and get great results (get a good eq instead of 4x6's) i pretty well know that bodystyle of car inside and out in fact we will probably be redoing my old car so the owner can sell it.
