Best head unit in the $250 price range

I am looking to replace my Head Unit. I have about $250 to spend and want to get the best head unit I can get for that budget. Only 3 things I care about are :

1 : Ipod Control

2: 4v or more pre outs

3: decent built in EQ

I was looking into the Pioneer 590IB, which i can get for around $200. Are there any better options available for what i am looking for in that price range??

Pioneer DEH 7800MP "COLOR SCREEN" + 16 Band equalizer, and crossovers all built in. Looks swEEEEEEEET oh.. also 6v RCA pre outs.

I seen a DEH-8600MP, is that an older discountinued model? and how does it stack up to the 7800mp?

I think i seen the 8600mp on ebay for like $240...seemed like a good price for what it says it has...

I sell the pioneer 5900ib and the 7800 at bestbuy all day, they are great headunits. But i'm an kenwood excelon fan. I have the x889, which sucks with the ipod. The new kenwoods ( x891 and x991) are suppose to work better with the ipod.
