not even that, i just assumed that kenwood had an aura of being a cheapo brand, but i guess i was wrong //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gifLook for an 889, I got mine brand new in box for under 200. The quality problems you are thinking of are the older dmask units where the faceplate mechanisms died. These are different and dont have those problems.
their amps and speakers yes, but their regular excelon series headunits kick ***.not even that, i just assumed that kenwood had an aura of being a cheapo brand, but i guess i was wrong //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
i already have a speaker amp, Elemental designs Nine.2 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif I wasn't sure if i was gonna change the speakers out of my stock system though, since it sounds pretty good now, just doesn't get loud enough. If i put the head unit in and im not happy with how it sounds with the stockers, ill just buy a set of components for the front and throw in the speaker amp.i got my x790 at locust also, great company, but id spend the extra 20 bucks to get the x890 with the usb input.
checked ebay for ya, doesnt seem to have any kenwood recievers at the moment? kinda wierd...
edit: ii think you can get an eclipse 4000 on ebay in your price range, looks into the pros and cons, and what suites your styles better, if you get the kenwood, plan on running a speaker amp for your speakers, unless your dont listen to your music loud at all...
excellent. Sounds like i found my head unit then, just need to find the right place to buy it from. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.giftheir amps and speakers yes, but their regular excelon series headunits kick ***.
i already have a speaker amp (Elemental designs nine.2) and most likely i will get a new set of components, probably rainbows or something. But i still need a good head unit.Get an amp and some components, I have the x889, diamond components, and an arc amp which I pickup up altogether for less than $500. Even in my loud truck they sound awesome. I just wish I could put them in my dd, but its a lease.
I have the non-Premier unit, and it is great. Until you blow the RCA preouts on it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gifI might be able to get the Pioneer 680mp for 180 dollars new, should I go for that, or would the kenwood still be better?
wow man, really soudns like the kenwood is for me then. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gifI have the non-Premier unit, and it is great. Seriously, the unit is great, but the 2.2v pre-outs are kind of a nuisance with setting gains if you are anal about your noise floor. If your into cleanest system available, go for one of the X#90 Excelons, they have a nice high Floor noise, I believe 100db.
