Best for a reasonable price

Hi, I am new to the car audio world and was just wondering what is the best setup of stuff you can buy (amp, woofers, etc) that will sound great and be a reasonable price. I've heard good things about Elemental Designs, are they good? And I've also heard of a Digital Designs, are they better than ED?

ED is a relatively new company that's widely known for some of the best subs on the market in the 100-150 price range. They've just begun production on a class D sub amp that is already being talked about as the best 1+kw you can get for the money even though no body has one in-hand yet.

Another very good subwoofer mfg. who seems to be side by side in competition with ED is Adire Audio. Thier big product is the Shiva, along with a few other higher priced woofers.

For amps, JBL and US acoustics seem to be the most popular "affordable" amps. I, personally like the Lanzar Vibe amps, the old black ones (xx0 series), not the new white xx8 series.

Elemental designs wins this category in subs and amps easily in my opinion. THey beat the piss out of alot of higher priced stuff. Very nice bang for the buck.

DD makes some great shit. I remember someone was saying they were trying to blow a 9515 and they couldn't even push it that much. DD 9500's will make your heart skip a beat when tuned right in the right box. But, they are also pretty expensive. Some companies to look at are Elemental Designs, http://www.edesignaudio.com, Adire Audio, http://www.adireaudio.com, and Resonant Engineering, http://www.respl.com. They all make great equipment at reasonable costs.

i hear all this buzz n hype bout the ED nine.1 but it hasn't even come out nor i don' think any one has had an experience orseen this in action, so was up with all the hypE? it sounds like a great amp for th especs, but would they come out as good as in paper?

exactly what i've been thinking... everyone here seems to recommend this amp, and it hasnt even come out yet... theres no doubt in the back of my mind that this is going to be a hell of an amplifier... but why recommend something that 99% of the population has yet to even see in real life??? people are already giving heads up comparison to this amp and that amp, which i think is total bs... hell, i want the darn amp myself, but i'm not going to recommend it to any body just because of the fact that i havent seen the thing in action... anyways, theres another thread similiar to this called parrots or something... i think imma go vent there, this may be the wrong post to do it in... =Þ
