Focal Polyglass V30 speakers can often bought locally for under $400. Based on reviews, these are great speakers, specially if you want to run them in passive mode, because the crossovers have some unusual options for setup.

If you want coaxial speakers, Hybrid Audio Imagine are great as long as tweeter are not aiming directly at your ears. Most factory locations are probably fine. To run in component mode, I'd prefer to use them with active crossover as the stock crossover is quite primitive, or perhaps use HAT Unity which come with a better passive crossover box.

I just (today) purchased a set of Focal 165 K2P's and a set of the same K2P in a 5.25" set. After purchasing them I realized I can only use the 165 6.5" set so oh well. But anyways these Focals are IMO the best sounding speakers I have ever heard. Hands down. I currently have the kicker qs 65.2 in my Sequoia and these Focals blow them out the water. I have them installed on axis in kick panels with 150 watts going to each side in a passive setup. Active is too much hassle for me these days.

I say go with what your ears say regardless the cost. You gonna end up buying the ones you really want sooner or later. Mind as well get them now and enjoy them.

UPDATE:

I checked out the Hertz line at another local shop yesterday and was blown away by them. They didn't have that super bright ear-splitting Focal sound I heard at the first shop. Everybody's ears are different, and the HSK165XL just sang to me. Planning on throwing a couple 12s in the back and powering it all with the new MMATS hifi 6150!
