best dvd deck out?

You're approaching the budget for a combo with an Alpine H701 processor.. Any alpine feeding the PXA-H701 via the optical out would be excellent sound quality.. If that's what you're after.

x2. If you're looking for excellent expandibility options I highly suggest getting an Alpine h/u + processor combo.

Are you looking for double-din or single-din? Are you at all interested in processing cabpability, or do you just want a fancy DVD player only?

There's so much out now that you need to give us what you want out of it. For $1000 there are a lot of possibilities.

i think the kenwood kvt-719dvd or 819 ir the double din version of this unit is better because of its features and looks plus you can alwasy use the h701 with the rux for this unit i used both and i like the kenwood better. Kenwood i think has better options. Just because its not alpine does not means its not good and just b/c its kenwood does not means its a lower quality then alpine if i was you i would go to a audio shop test them both out. Thats what i did.

Why buy a non-alpine deck, buy the alpine processor and then have to cough up an additional $300 or so for the controller. If you're starting off fresh and want the h701, then you might as well get an alpine h/u that can control it right out the gate.

No one said that Alpine is the best either. However, if you're looking for serious sound expansion then it's very hard to beat what Alpine has to offer in the way of a combo package.

I had given up looking but do any of these 2-din screen units have full SQ features such the 9887 or 880 or 7100 or 775usb? (without having to add an external processor).

I pretty much gave up on any of these having full TA, Active X-overs, decent EQ, etc built in, which is interesting considering they have a complete whole other din area for extra space if needed. To my knowledge, NO 2-din SQ units of any kind?
