I currently have the two subs facing the rear with the port facing the rear as well. Now ive seen quite a handful of people take the subs and face them towards the front. Which is better?
Experimentation is how to determine this. Some math and an understanding of phase interference can help narrow down options.
In sedans or coupes I like firing subs into the cabin and sealing off the trunk completely. In hatchbacks and SUV's I like rear corner or off the rear of the vehicle facing back. I want to eliminate phase interference that happens when the reflected wave is out of phase with the direct wave. This matters for both SQ and SPL.
