Will the headphone remote with with a digital out adaptor for iDevices?

I am thinking about getting the Audison Bit Ten D, I plan on using an adaptor to get digital out of the 30 pin connector, but I am wondering how to control it.... Apple makes headphones with a remote build it, will that work at the same time as the digital output out of the 30 pin connector?

Any other ideas for controlling the iDevice? Perhaps I could still using my Alpine HU to control my iPod, but use a 30 pin 3 way connector, route the control pins to the HU and the pins needed for digital out to the digital out adaptor...... has anyone done this?

You will need to convert the iDevice digital signal to a fiber optic signal to input to the bit ten D. You will need to get a service manual to know what the Alpine HU needs to see to recognize the iDevice.
