best car for a system

Most people's financial means ... buying new ? So ... maybe up to $35, 000 ?

There are a few vehicles I would choose if I was looking for a car that I thought was "good" for an installation.

Volkswagon Golf/GTI/Jetta

Honda Civic (coupe, sedan, or hatchback from previous years)/Civic Si

Just for starters ... there's a whole lot more, for me anyways.

I can tell you what the worst car is. Any 4th gen camaro convertible. You are messing with internal amps, the wal mart dash kit doesnt look right, the door panels are really hard to take off and you cant use wood baffles or they dont fit back on right. The trunk rattles like it aint funny. the kick panels (no speakers just trim) are attached with screws and when you run wires under the carpet it is hard to get them back on. The trunk is really weird and hard to make boxes for and the sound from the outside comes into the car

Any vehicle can sound great with enough work. I have an Expedition that I spent a week gutting and applying Stinger Expert Roadkill to. It sounds great - two sets of Diamond M6 components, 2 U.S. Amps TU-600's, 4 Diamond CM3 12's run by a U.S. Amps USA-2000.

One thing about having a larger vehicle is that it requires more total subwoofer diplacement (cone area X linear excursion) and amplifier power, in order to achieve the same SPL.

But once you have it...

2nd generation Ford Explorer (95-00)

I know it's not a car, but man they are a good vehicle to work with. Spacious, easy to disassemble, and stout... the explorer is one of the most agreeable vehicles I've worked on. My only qualm would be the upgraded stereo's amp bypass system...

most definitly what he said, i would actually take any of the explorer gens. they are easy to work with, and they will get loud too //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif .

LOL...Agreed on the camero issue. They really aren't all that bad though. Just finished building a camero w/ 2 15L7s sealed, two kac-X810ds, and a kac-x650d (five channel), two sets of Resolution components and a set of resolution midbasses in the doors. oh yeah, two Stinger SP1000s and an isolotor, 1/0 stinger wire, an X869, and a music keg. 154 on our mic at the store. Fun stuff..

I would love to pimp out my Dad's 91 Ford Escort Station Wagon. When you put the back seats down it gives you a huge layout for a system. It would be great to have 8ft worth of speakers and only 3 feet for seating. Just to make it even more classy I would find the cheapest set of spinnig hub caps around. Across the back put a big logo calling it the Shagon Wagon.
