My brother picked up a 9855 from Best Buy(he works there, nice discount). The glide touch is very annoying trying to surf through the sound shaping menu- i found at many times as I glided my finger across it did not respond- you have to do it perfectly. Also you CANNOT lower your volume once you are in the tuning menu's, rendering your main rotary knob useless once you are in the sound shaping menu- very stupid IMO because its becomes harder to tune real time unless you have the perfect volume level set- which doesnt exist because when you cut/boost a band on the PEQ you want to see how it affects the range of volume/voltage levels.
Unfortunately his branch did not sell any higher line clarions nor anything better than a Pio P-80mp otherwise I would've steered'm in another direction.
If you have access to that 9835 (which is rare), snag it- or spend sometime playing with the 9855 to see if that novelty is for you. Those higher Clarions look real good though..
