Best Buy...

I've been in the industry for a long time.......... Don't ask for a specific dollar amount.
Ask instead, "what is the range of pay for this position?"

When they answer, let's say they say it pays 10-15 dollars per hour.

Your response would be, "Based on my experience, I feel I'm worth 13 or 14. What would I have to do to get the 15?"

That's the best way, I've heard that question handled. The folks who manage Best Buy's car shop aren't exerienced enough negotiators to handle that. You'll win.

good luck
Unless the HRM is a dickhead and he says he starts and 10 but secretly he knows he would have paid more had you asked for more, but since you didn't you get 10... sucker.

they train you and all i have to say is if you dont pass it on the first try and you use that in training bs they will more and likely can you unless you are really good. the practice test is far easier than the actual test however. you have to be bby certified before you can touch a car anyway.

true... hmmm I think ima ask for 12
ask for 13. just because that extra dollar per the hour makes it all the better. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

oh and exactly what does training consist of? any hands on exerience?

I worked at Sales at CC.... eperinence... I think I have a good deal of experince...

Enough? IDK bout that...

How much do I mean by a good deal? Well not to sure... but Ive had some

the bb i worked at fired people for not passing the mecp 1-3 times lol yes there were people who failed it 3 times. they provide you with the study guides and have a pretty decent online program (from the store if they give you the time to do the modules.) its a good concept but in practice from being there and stories i heard its shaey from store to store some good some bad. i averaged a 21% in psp (gross income) and at times i got in trouble for not pressing the issue or overcoming objectives to it. where i was good was reading people and tones of the word "no" actually ment something you break that personable level with a customer you might as well be selling used cars at crazy larry's or ask everyone the same thing everytime like they do at burger king. its just really backwards to what i was used to and over time they started to change little by little into what i was/am used to but thats what you get in a big system of stores not run by sales people. and yes i do consider chain stores like that the anti christ of electronics loli might offend a few people that work there by saying this but at the same time i know they know what i mean.
