Best Buy messed my speakers up.

if your other amp has RCA inputs and outputs, then yes, it is okay. You could also run RCA splitters but I never do that. Agreed that your HU probably has a low preout voltage and depending on the LOC they used for your amp, yes the way they wired it could be a cause for poor SQ. If they used a nice one though, it is probably the speakers and hu.

14 is okay but try 12. I usually run 8 but it is because I have an abundance of scrap strands.
No they didnt use a LOC. They used the front and rear high level inputs.

Gain was inbetween half way and a quarter way up. like 35%. I had bass on -10 on my HU (low as it goes) and he had the HPF set on the amp. They were 6x8's
well if all of this held true u may have just been overpowering them

the position of the gain knob doesnt really tell me anything if i dont know what kind of head unit u have or where the volume was when the amp was set.

he couldve set the amp at say 20 out of 35 and you were at 25 out of 35 it would make just enough difference to blow the speakers but again this is situation dependent.

what kind of speakers? i know we put a 50x4 amp on the memphis sr5x7s which are the same mounting size and the held up fine for only being 30w rms hpf was set at 80 eq was flat with a +2db boost at 4khz

did u have the loud feature on? or some sort of media expander, bass engine, etc? the planet audio loud feature is known for blowing speakers without any other cause

lol.
I installed my own speakers!

And had a guy who was younger than me install my sub system..

and I'm 19

sometimes all I do is look at my amp and bask at how its wired flawlessly.

"15 didn't see no wires, and then I heard BOOOOM from thee amplifier"
Still audio pipe.......

Nice size speaker wire for that sub.

Tell me about it.

I seriously wish the KnuKonceptz didn't run out stock of their 4 gauge wiring kits...

Had to get a Rockford Fosgate kit that didn't come with speaker wire

installer kid brought his own. Either I left with bump, or I didn't I chose bump. But hey! Now I'm upgrading the box and the wires! Atleast I don't sit around and be like "blah"

By the way.

ASPM-1500 on a D2 or D4 Obsidian Audio, is a very very good combination!

Ok. Do i plug it into the input or output rca's on the sub amp?
input man. it will go from the output on the other amp to the input on the sub amp. the head unit will go to the input on the other amp.

think about it like this, the RCA's carry an audio signal (the music) to the amp. your head unit is sending that music signal through the RCA's to the input of the first amp so that the music can go into the amp, then you use the output from that amp to send the music out to the other amps input.

You didn't blow the speakers because they got 60W on 35W RMS speakers. To blow them so that smoke was rolling out the door the amp probably shorted to send DC voltage to the speakers. You shouldn't have turned the radio back on after you smelled smoke. Since you turned it back on and heard other speakers sounding wrecked it's another sign the amp experienced catastrophic failure. However, at this point it's just speculation. Take the car to a different shop to get a different professional opinion. Don't count on a temper tantrum getting Best Buy to help you replace equipment.

So i have this amp for my speakers.Clarion XR2410 400W, XR Series 4-Channel Amplifier

and this amp for the subs.MB Quart ONX1.1500D - ONYX Class D Monoblock Car Amplifier/Amp

Will it work with these because i asked the guy at best buy why he used the high level inputs on the amp rather than just runing RCA's to the other amp like you said and he told me my amp didnt have an active crossover so i coudnt do it or something. Dont remember exactly what he said but i would like to be sure it will work before i go mess up my wires that are all perfectly organized.. -_-

well, you got boned because your clarion amp doesnt have signal outputs. It only has inputs so that is why they had to run high level inputs to your sub amp. just get a new head unit and you'll get better sound quality. lol what have they said about your situation?
