best buy circuit city LOL

As with alxmlr789 view on things I hate to sell some of the stuff I have in stock. I personally will not be outfitting my vehicle with anything from the store except for the Alarm R/S. Everything else will be coming from the internet at a better price and quality. Unfortunately it's all I have and most of the time even thought it pains me to see it, it's pretty much what the customer wants. There have been numerous times I have wanted to say Leave your car with me, come back tomorrow and you won't believe it's the same car. But everyone wants a GPS/DVD/Touchscreen/CD/IPOD compatible deck that will fit with no extra labor involved for $99! Sometimes the customer can be just as frustrating as the sales associate.

they don't pay enough to get knowledgeable employees, so unless they hire someone who's really into it as a hobby, you're not going to get a lot of help. But the people they hire know how to push the stuff they sell to the average uninformed shopper, so it works.
The few times I've had to go in and look for something for an install or whatever I just mind my own business and if a salesman gets pushy I tell them I buy my stuff on the internet and they leave me alone. NO need to bust anyone's chops as they're just doing what they get paid to do...
Exactly

I will not put a SINGLE piece of equiptment from best buy in any of my cars. except maybe the RCA's i get for 3 dollars.

Most people think that because sony makes excellent TV's, they make good car equiptment, so they just stick with what they know. But most people arent looking for car audio, they are looking for GPS and satellite radio.

again, if i could, i would tell them all to go look up ficaraudio.com, buy a Q and be done with it. But i would lose my job //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I am going to be honest, i dont know much about speakers, i know a small amount. SO heres my story
I went to best buy to f*** with the car audio employees, to see if i could keep up with them. I asked a few questions, quickly realized that i know about 100x what they know, put together. Supposedly a 10 gauge wire is enough for two small amps, and fuses just "get in the way and dont have a purpose so why bother they just throw you off"

Almost thought they were kidding

Then i went to circuit city. This ones a real rip. I went to the car audio section. I said, hey i have 800 dollars can you give me a good subwoofer setup... So the guy was like.. sure here we go. First thing he grabs is a capacitor. A rockford fosgate .5 farad for 120 dollars. He goes "now i dont care what anybody says your system will never sound right without this here capacitor its good to 5000 watts fosgate is incredible the digital display allows for much more than non digital" Then he gets stinger 4 gauge wire, the distro block all that jazz, then he brings me over to the subs. "The xplods will outperform most other subs, they have a great blend of harmonic code and a great x max" and some "amazing" xplod amp... i was like hold all this stuff for me and throw whatever else you think i need in ill be back//

Im just letting you know that if I can have fun with best buy and circuit city employees, their has to be something wrong. Im quite ashamed of them.
lol @ ppl going to mess with the car audio employees at BB and CC

ahahah!!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

well in the car audio section i work at, there are 5 of us. 3 installers an 2 sales. the 3 installers actually know there shit. an they do good installs. the other sales person doesnt know jack shit about car audio. ive been workin there since thursday an have already been guaranteed a job after seasonal is over. by feb i will be installing in the roadshop. yes the stuff is overpriced but its a business, its no worse than a car audio shop though.

Who will a customer trust more?
Me - The Best Buy Employee who Specializes in Car Audio

or

You - A Random stranger spouting off shit
then just take them to the car and let them hear what the sh*t spouting sounds like...... and how much it cost compared to bb/cc.......lol

That Corvette is in Michigan //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif, a member of my car forum actually took the official photographs for Lingenfelter. The guy who owns it also owns a VERY impressive collection. I can send you a link if you're interested in checking it out.

WoW! Are those pics in Oscoda, MI I work at that very airport it looks like and I think I seen a yellow car runnin out there was it this one? It was fuggin bookin!

Nevermind I actually read it! Yep that was her. That thing was insane man thats cool , now i know what the hell was going on. There are always speed runs out there with different cars. There was a Cobra runnin out there not too long ago also.

this is another case of
"if i make fun of CC and/or BB Ill be liked"

so pathetic
Well, since they don't sell anything that's really worth noting, what can I like them for?

Customer service?

When I can't get a sales drone to even open an install bay door so I can spend money there?

Maybe I'm mistaken, but I think they earn all the vitriol that gets said about them...

I don't really mess with people at best buy but once I was there buying speaker wire harnesses. (When I do installs, I try not to cut any wires, it makes everything nice and neat when you use those plastic adapters) and there was a guy talking about the xm radios.

He suggested the terk over the Pioneer model. And then walked off to get my speaker adapters. While he was gone I told the customer the pioneer xm adapter is far better than the terk.

My story isn't interesting...mainly because I am not a confrontational kind of guy.

dude its a job it pays my bills. its not a career.

you take the general idea that YOU wont buy anything there but guess what

A SHIT LOAD OF PEOPLE DO...on black friday our store made almost 1 million $ in a single day. i think that says something...

and best buy was NEVER supposed to be the one stop and shop store for Caraudio. It is a stored geared towards Media Video games...and now its is heavily geared to Home Theater and Computers.

you say there is nothing at BBY that you would buy? is that car audio only?

because we sell the Pioneer Plasma and thats one of the best Tv out there..

yes they over price shit but guess what people buy it regardless. not every one buys stuff off the internet(yet one day it will be like that) some people still want that hands on experience.

And the knowledge factor only effects Carfi. most best buys.

there is over 800 best buys in North America...untill you have shopped at every single one you cannot take a single experience and make your argument about that one.

i wont lie every two weeks they release a Damage Claim report (nation wide)

some of the claims are pretty bad...the worst ones are

--> drilled through roof while installing over head mobile video...

the community that the store is in makes a HUGE difference also...

if a store is in the ghetto you are probably not going to get the best experience.

that is all

i do that to customers .. i tell them dont buy BB stuff .. go online to other companies .. like FI .. as long as you look busy with a customer the managers wont really bother u ..

umm BBY doesnt sell the TERK for the pioneer.

and most likly the terk hasd a higher mark up so thats why we push those...

working at bby you learn how to make the customer bend over and take it...

when i first started i didnt like doing it i was very very up right with the customers... and i got threatened to have my job taken away

the way i look at is it...

EAT OR BE EATEN and guess what imma eat and eat plenty of it.
