I am going to be honest, i dont know much about speakers, i know a small amount. SO heres my story

I went to best buy to f*** with the car audio employees, to see if i could keep up with them. I asked a few questions, quickly realized that i know about 100x what they know, put together. Supposedly a 10 gauge wire is enough for two small amps, and fuses just "get in the way and dont have a purpose so why bother they just throw you off"

Almost thought they were kidding

Then i went to circuit city. This ones a real rip. I went to the car audio section. I said, hey i have 800 dollars can you give me a good subwoofer setup... So the guy was like.. sure here we go. First thing he grabs is a capacitor. A rockford fosgate .5 farad for 120 dollars. He goes "now i dont care what anybody says your system will never sound right without this here capacitor its good to 5000 watts fosgate is incredible the digital display allows for much more than non digital" Then he gets stinger 4 gauge wire, the distro block all that jazz, then he brings me over to the subs. "The xplods will outperform most other subs, they have a great blend of harmonic code and a great x max" and some "amazing" xplod amp... i was like hold all this stuff for me and throw whatever else you think i need in ill be back//

Im just letting you know that if I can have fun with best buy and circuit city employees, their has to be something wrong. Im quite ashamed of them.

i literally feel bad when i go into the car audio sections at my local BB. the guys that work there are complete idiots, do horrible installs, and its almost unbearable to watch people spend $1000 for two alpine type-E subs in a prefab, an amp that doesnt put out enough power for the subs, a cap, and a low-end HU. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif

i speak up occasionally, i should probably speak up more though

It sucks that you have no more of a life than to go to best buy and circuit city on your free time to screw with them.

I mean you knew walking in they only carry shit like kenwood, sony, etc so what did you expect them to try and sell you?

Who will a customer trust more?
Me - The Best Buy Employee who Specializes in Car Audio

or

You - A Random stranger spouting off shit
exactly, lol. i wish that BB had some kind of test involved with the CA section though. i bet you would make the guys at my local best buy look like toddlers

Yeah, I like what you said. That, and, if you think about it, those people are paid to sell those products. If I worked there, I know I would be trying to do the same, even if it meant selling sony's for a couple hundred bucks...

bmx i never said best buy has stinger i said circuit city

bt dickey actually its kinda sad that your x amount of years old and care to diffuse the maddness of my thread.. My point is... How can they not get people who know their shit? i want to go and learn! seriously i should be able to go into best buy, an electronical giant and learn a thing or two about cars.

AND, they had kicker so i dont know what your talking about, obviously the employee has a friend or two with sony xplods and they said their shit rules. So hes telling me xplods are better than.. kickers.

the man said it has great x max im not going to lie..

im getting flamed for sharing my experience at best buy and circuit city, if you angry people that i assume have some serious emotional problems have nothing nice to reply, do not reply.

Mmmm k, well if you have nothing nice to say or do, stay out of the car audio departments at Best Buy and Circuit City.

I was quite surprised to see my installers working with FG for a customer. I never thought CC was allowed to do that kind of stuff.
