The local bar that I go to has a mixed crowd. Early it is a bunch of old farmers. They like the old country. Willy and firends-Poncho and Lefty. Some old Merle and the like. The the young crowd comes around 10. Then it turns in to Pantera, and old school Metallica. You can't beat Battery or Master Puppets. Some Alice in Chains gets people going (especially the wake of a regular). It is small town so if a regular dies after the graveside services everybody heads to bar to drink in their memory.

I gotta say, the small town regular dieing rings a bell.

My sophomore year of college, one of my roommates died in a car crash one horribly stormy night. We all had a BBQ the night before at the house, it was a good time.

The storm came up about dark the next night and he left out in his truck just before it hit. One of my roommates (his sister) heard from him about 30mins later. That was the last anyone hear from him. We had tornado and flooding conditions in the area, they found his truck on the side of the road about 2hrs later. He died on impact, single car crash on a flooded road.

Steven was a good guy. RIP.

He loved Alice in Chains, me and my roommates drink to him everytime 'The Rooster' was played.

Damit...thinking back, I can't remember the last time I went to our 'regular' bar since Steven died.

Wow. I didn't even realize the effect his death had on me.
