Best Bang low RMS 10" : MMATS , SoundQubed or ... other ??

Whats up guys,

I've got a quick question about subs ...

When it comes to "best bang for your buck" 10 inch subs (200 - 250 RMS max) do you guys prefer mmats or soundqubed or another company?

I'm asking because around 8 months ago I sold my old maxima and bought a 2002 tahoe (yes!) that came with a generic walmart "bass inferno" 10" in a small enclosed box. The truck also came with a Rockford 400a4 punch which i'm using to run the two components in the front doors and have the other two channels bridged to run the 10" in the back...

In other words ... that 400a4 is only pushing around 150w (if I remember right) to that sub.

Basically ... The box is usually in the back when i'm not hauling anything BUT why I like the little box is because its just barely small enough to squeeze into the space between the front passengers seat and the glove box so its firing at the floor. This way I can drop the back seats and then load up the back and still have my sub running in the front seat (although the back seats fold over onto the rockford which makes it overheat if I crank it too much : pain in the ***).

I'm trying to make the most out of this little box and although the sub sounds better than I thought it would (after running proper crossovers) ... its still not "enough".

I'm trying to spend maybe 100 - 150 tops on another sub to maximize the current setup.

Whoa ... that thing looks like a beast for the price. How would I figure out how many cubic inches of box space it needs to sound good?

I'm assuming that it would need more space than that Polk DB (marine speaker?) that was suggested.

If I take a half inch off of each measurement I made then the rough measurements are :

12.75" x 13.75" x 15.25" = 2673.51 / 1728 = 1.54 cubic feet (does that sound close?)

Soundqubed. And it's ok to get a higher power sub. A better sub will always be better no matter what the power it sees. You will need to maximize the enclosures efficiency, space makes bass. People say a bigger sub will not move on lower power, what happens when you turn the volume down? Cooling will not be a issue because it won't get hot enough to matter.

At this point i'm thinking I may just leave it as it is ... I'll just wait until I upgrade everything.

As it is , whoever designed the box only left just under 2" between the driver and the floor that it is pounding towards. Its an odd design but it sounds ok for the moment.

I'll just save my money and redesign the whole the setup at a later date = New Box design , New Sub , New Deck , New components , etc ...
