Best bang for your buck double din?

Looking for the best bang for the buck double din unit for $600. Are there any units that you think stand out as having lots of features for the money?

Also would $600 get me very far in the car pc world? I bet not but just thought i would ask.

if it doesn't have to be brand new 600 can get you a pretty good unit.. Are you asking to buy one or just seeing how far it would get you? 600 for a car pc is a little low.. you will need everything used and know how to install it all..

This is research you can do on your own. there are tons of double dinn units out there for under $600 and as far as carputers go you can do one easy for that price but its a lot of research that your going to have to do. head over to mp3car.com and check it out.

panasonic strada can be had for around that price new

7" touch screen w/ HDD navigation and 7 band parmetric EQ

Pc's is what I do. I put this in my friends car.

2 gig so-dimm ddr3

laptop mboard custom case + 3Ghz P4

320gig 2.5 HDD

pcmcia sprint broadband card ( for internet access )

low budget touch screen 7" double din.

Running Ubuntu.

I used the s-video out on the mborad to the av-inputs on the 7"

that cost around 700.00 at that time.

I'm sure if you search around you can get good prices on all of the above....
