Best bang for the buck?

Just blew my 10w3v3, now i need to upgrade. What are the differences between the following and which is a better option for me?

head unit- Alpine 9883

amplifier- JL Audio 500/1

Im deciding between (2) 12" Kicker CompVr subwoofers or (2) 10" Kicker solobarics? Both setups with the box are $299 @ onlinecarstereo, I'm trying to figure out the best deal for me. Budget is $300 for woofers.

I listen to mostly hip/hop music, but I listen to all different types of music.

For the amount of power you have I would go with the 12s, but I would also go with building your own box.

get 2 RE SE and build your own box, of what you listed I, get one 12" kicker CVR and run the 500.1 to it, or the comps, not enough power for solobarics...
