Best bang for the buck buying used

Looking to upgrade my system in my 2012 tundra crew cab. I'm not wanting to go full blown all out system. Just build a nice quality system. I'm looking at buying used on most components off eBay. It's been years since I've looked at any audio. My first purchase is sub and amp. I'm looking at Hertz on sub/amp or Hertz sub and Rockford amp. Didn't know what's some of the better quality products out there right now and what I should look at. Out of the Hertz lineup what series should I look at in a 10" sub keeping price in mind. Thanks from a newbie

I'm doing it in a step by step process. Doing sub and amp now, then I'll move to rear for kids and keep progressing until it's complete. I don't want to spend 500.00 on one sub but also don't want to spend 50.00 on a new 12" either. The sub I'm looking at is used/new old stock Hertz da 300 and an es 300 and they are both running around 125.00 to 150.00 each

What about the focal auditor RIP 250s db
I cant say..Ive never experienced them..I can deff vouch for a Dayton HO DVC4 ohm series though. They used to have a 5 year warranty as well(I believe they still do) that no other sub woofer company or maker provides other than a 1 year at best. For SQ and excellent small chambered enclosure woofer, great for the money..in a ported enclosure on a pair ive had the brim of my hat move nicely as sounded clean as hell doing it.
