Best Bang For Buck

Looking for a bang for the buck setup for front and rear doors. Stock is 6x9 in front, 6.5s in back, and there is a tweeter location on the dash, but I dont think the wires are ran, not sure.

1st, should I stick with 6x9s in front, or go with 6.5s all around? I know 6.5s sound better, but being a large area, and the location of them, Im thinking Nissan picked 6x9s for a reason.

I was thinking of this set for the back for mid bass since they are so cheap,

Lanzar (OPTI6PM) Opti Pro 400 Watts 6.5'' High Power Coaxial Speakers

Recomendation for a set of fronts for the highs? Saw these mentioned in another thread.

Crescendo Audio :: Component Speaker Systems :: CCX65

Ill probably grab a cheap amp to through about 75w to each.

If you want to go comps in the doors, follow all the recommendations in the 100 or so recent threads on them //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Otherwise go with the best 6x9 and 6.5 coaxials you can find for the money. I'm using some old SoundStream XTS6.5's and some Alpine Type-S 6X9's in my current setup and they sound great for what they are. Since you're starting from scratch, there's a lot available these days compared to when I bought these about 8-10 years ago.

Phoenix Gold is good. Vw, I have Alpine S 6x9's in the rear deck. What do you think of them? Are yours amped? Mine seem to put out good bass for what they are.

I love 6x9's. They do great bass, & get a LOT louder and cleaner than 5 1/4. I'm running all infinity kappas and they get nasty loud.
I wish my car had 6x9's all around. They were stupid not to. I want to modify the doors but I don't really know what I'm doing..and don't want to "change" the car in case I would sell it.

I wish I didn't, but I really regret putting Alpine S instead of R in the Bonneville. Shame, I'm sure when I get the cash, I'll throw the r's in but that'll be $150 for nothing. I might be able to get something out them, not sure.

Anyone know the mounting depth of the PGs before I buy?

My car = Without Bose:

Speaker Specifications

Location Size Depth

Front Speaker 6X9 3

Front Tweeter 1 1

Rear Speaker 6.5 3

You won't be disappointed with the pg's. Not sure on the mounting depth. Hopefully your going with the rsd's? My friend has some at school un-amped and they're still well worth the money.

About to pull the trigger on RSD690s and RSD6s or RSD6CSs, but I cant find mounting depth anywhere for the 6x9s. The 6s are 2 7/8".

Is it worth it to get the crossovers when Ill be getting an amp for them?

I've always liked infinity for cheap speakers. If you have a sub get the 6.5's throughout and look into the infinity tweeters. I really like the way they sound off a stock amp. I have also ran alpine type s 6.5's off a tma 360.4 that also sounded really clean until one by one they blew because they couldnt handle 80 rms. I really liked my tma amp and I wish i never would of sold it. I would go the infinity route.
